Up to 70% of teens feel better after treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs). However, 30-50% of teens either do not feel better after treatment or still have some stubborn symptoms that get in the way of their lives. It is therefore critical to continue to do research on depression so we can help more teens feel their best.
The Youth Emotion and Smartphone Study (YESS) Project aims to learn more about adolescents' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, as well as what drives depression in adolescents.
