Saima Akbar and Colleagues Publish Study Showing that Optimizing Sleep Improves Residual Anxiety in Early Adolescents

Congratulations to Saima Akbar and coauthors for this recent publication:

Targeted Sleep Enhancement Reduces Residual Anxiety Symptoms in Peri-Adolescents Previously Treated for Anxiety Disorders - ScienceDirect

The article presents data from 46 anxious adolescents (ages 9-14) where improving sleep after completing anxiety treatment resulted in further reduction in anxiety severity.

These data have implications for future evaluation of efficacy and effectiveness of sleep promoting interventions on anxiety symptoms across diverse populations and contexts in adolescence.
