REMEDY Research Group Welcomes New Post-doc, Dr. Amanda Baker!

Dr. Dana McMakin
Director

Dr Baker completed doctoral training in Psychology with a major in Cognitive Neuroscience working with Dr. Adriana Galván at UCLA. Her doctoral research focused on the neural mechanisms contributing to the development of anxiety in adolescence, with a focus on how anxiety and risk-taking behaviors develop in tandem and are affected by potentially modifiable factors such as adolescent sleep. She joins the REMEDY research team to study the neural and behavioral mechanisms by which sleep (measured via actigraphy and polysomnography) impacts functioning in adolescent anxiety. The overarching goal of Dr. Baker's research is to leverage the unique aspects of adolescent brain and behavioral development to inform targeted treatments and promote healthy emotional development amongst youth.

Welcome, Dr. Baker! We are so glad you chose to join us.
